When performing weld analysis we can start with visual and non destructive examination including stereoscopic, magnetic particle, liquid dye penetrant and ultrasound. The weld is they examined for form, size and shape. Destructive testing then begins and the weld can be inspected in multiple locations for the issues and defects shown above. Microhardness measurements are then taken to examine the heat affected zone for embrittlement. Also, with our state of the art automatic microhardness testing capabilities we can scan and map the weld with easy to understand and great visual aids including color maps related to the entire weld strength and weakness as needed.
