Salt Spray/Fog Testing ASTM B117:

Corrosion Resistance Testing using neutral salt spray
chamber in accordance with ASTM B117 test methods is
contained in its own room, fully insulated and checked for
pH, salinity, temperatures, and collection. With full
stereoscopic and SEM capabilities we can perform
examination after the salt spray test to detect any rust or
oxidation or determine the cause of premature failure.

Thinking about cost resuction by changing materials:
Inspection for blistering of coatings, white rust and red rust. If you are thinking about changing materials. For example changing your component from stainless steel to low alloy or plain carbon steel with nickel plating or other type of coating and want to compare performance and compare corrosion resistance propertiy consider performing salt spray testing with the two materials side by side and see how they compare.
